The Putney Food Co-op has always felt like more than just a store to me – it’s a place where neighbors connect, local farmers and producers are celebrated, and our community’s values come to life. I believe strongly in the importance of a thriving local economy, and I’m passionate about supporting the small businesses and farms that make this area unique. My past board experience has taught me how to balance vision with practical governance, and how to develop and execute long term goals. I would bring those same collaborative skills to this role. Most of all, I want to ensure the Co-op continues to be a vibrant gathering place that reflects and supports the community we all care so deeply about.

Growing up in southern Vermont, I took the existence of natural food stores and coops for granted. After traveling extensively around the country I now realize what a privilege it is to have the Putney Co-op in our small town. I feel that it is high time that I gave back to the community that raised me. I am passionate about food, environmental sustainability, and farming. I also have extensive accounting and business management skills which I hope will be helpful to the board to help ensure that this institution remains strong and continues to prosper in the future.

As an environmental educator, my passion is helping people connect with their natural and built environments. Food systems are an important part of our environment, especially when thinking about sustainable food systems and thriving communities. My experience in food systems includes working on organic farms and shellfish flats, managing campus food recovery networks, and overseeing campus wide compost collection. I’m a relative newcomer to Putney and would like to give back to this wonderful community through service on the Putney Food Co-op board. The Co-op is a local gem in our small, vibrant town and I hope my experience in environmental education and knowledge about sustainable food systems will be of benefit to the board and the community.
